Sharon R. Becker (1953-2019)
A longtime Cerro Gordo County Coordinator for IAGenWeb, Sharon transcribed a substantial volume of the material found on this website.
Pat Ludeke (1932-2018)
Many of Cerro Gordo County's gravestone photographs on IAGenWeb's Gravestone Photograph Project were taken by Pat Ludeke, who generously shared with us. She also tirelessly transcribed thousands of obituaries. Truly, Pat was a dear friend who was loyal to Cerro Gordo County. We shall sadly miss her as she begins a new chapter and a glorious new journey.
Winifred Simkins McNabb (email)
My great-grandfather was named David Nathan Simkins. He probably came to Cerro Gordo County about 1875 or so. His wife was named Kezia Lois Dean. Her father was Hosea J. Dean, who died in Cerro Gordo County in Dec of 1880. His widow was Rebecca Ketcham Dean who later married a man named Corbett. After his death she returned to Mason City and died about 1920 and is buried in Mason City. Winifred worked on transcribing the 1923 Mason City Directory.
Donna Pardun (email)
My maiden name is Lathrum, which was originally Latham, and my ancestors came from North Carolina to Indiana, to Madison County, Iowa, and from there to Dallas and Polk County, Iowa. My mom is Italian, and her maiden name is Dalasta, her parents came from Italy, to Ankeny, Polk, Iowa. I don't think I have any connection to Cerro Gordo County, but who knows? My husband is Anthony Pardun, originally from the Vinton, Benton County area.
