Per the inscription, "Part of the Operating Room, Jones Hospital, Lewis, Iowa." This photo postcard is from the collection of Christine (Anderson) Petersen from Lorah. Christine contracted typhoid fever circa 1913-1914 and was treated at Jones Hospital in Lewis. Below, Christine, head shaved, in her hospital bed after recovering from typhoid fever.

Christine, far right, seated in the Jones Hospital operating room with nurses/friends. The nurse second from the left appears in photos of Christine during her nurse's training at Atlantic Hospital, and according to those photos her last name was "Daly". Several of the other women also appear in photos from Christine's nurse's training at Atlantic Hospital, but their names are unknown. Recognize anyone above?
