Taken prisoner April 8, 1864, near Mansfield, La. Wounded slightly Sept. 19, 1864, Winchester, Va. Mustered out July 31, 1865, Savannah, Ga. Buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Cass Co., Iowa.
