Birth date inscribed on tombstone is April 27, 1857 (different birth year from Sons of Union Veterans record). Per SUV born April 27, 1847 and died January 14, 1902 at age 54. GAR Post 201, Iowa. Oakwood Cemetery section 3, lot 12 west.
NOTE: Middle initial incorrectly listed on Cass County Soldiers' Monument as "D" instead of "G".
