THOMAS LUDLEY was born in England, and arrived in Brighton Township in 1855, soon after his immigration from England. He laid claim to eighty acres in Section 33 and on later occasions added to this original farm, but he did not labor to improve the land as he should have and consequently left for Oregon about the time of the Civil War.
