WILLIAM FRANKLIN was born in Franklin County, Ohio, on May 5, 1841. He married Alice M. Ostrander in 1858. They came to Brighton Township in the 1870's and operated a farm about a mile south of Marne. The four Franklin children died in the 1880's as a result of the diptheria epidemic. The twins, Ira and Alda, were born in 1898. William Franklin died in October, 1908, and his wife, Alice, died in April, 1916.
