ORRIN H. BLAKESLEE was born in Linn County, Iowa, on November 2, 1873, and was raised on the family farm north of Marne. He was the son of Obed Blakeslee. Orrin Blakeslee married Isabelle Mitchell on April 23, 1897, and they had five children, Maud, Mildred, Claude, Robert, and Helen Mercedes. Orrin H. Blakeslee operated a farm in Section 35 of Brighton Townshp prior to the death of his father. He then operated the family farms for a couple of years until 1906, when he and his family moved to Colorado, where Orrin passed away.
