R. C. KENNEDY

R. C. Kennedy was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, May 19, 1849, and is a son of William and Rachael (Carson) Kennedy, the former of whom was born in the same county, and the latter, in Lancaster county of the same State. William Kennedy died in 1881. His widow is still living in Washington county. R. C. Kennedy was educated in his native county, where he lived upon a farm until he came to Iowa and settled at Lewis, Cass county, in 1869. He engaged with Childs & Reinig, with whom he continued till 1880, since which he has been a partner of L. O. Reinig, in general merchandising. Mr. Kennedy was married in June, 1882, to Carrie Gardner, a native of Illinois, and daughter of William A. and Lucretia Gardner. He belongs to the I. O. O. F., and is one of Lewis' most enterprising and popular business men.
