SETH H. FELT
Seth H. Felt came here with his father, Charles M. Felt, in 1869. C. M. Felt bought eight hundred acres of land of the railroad company, and his son Charles one hundred and sixty acres in this township. In 1871, Seth H. Felt returned here from Knox county, Illinois, and obtained a deed for one hundred and sixty acres of land, which his father then owned. He has since made an addition to his farm of three hundred and twenty acres, all of which is under cultivation. He built a nice residence in 1875, and devotes his attention largely to stock raising, breeding some of the finest stock in the township. Mr. Felt was born in Warren county, Illinois, in 1848, and is the son of Charles M. Felt. He is a native of New Hampshire, but removed to Illinois when a boy. He is an extensive farmer and stock raiser in Knox county. Seth was married in 1876, to Stephanie G. Winship. They have three children--Albert, Jessie and Walter. Mr. Felt is one of the largest farmers and stock-raisers of this township, and has been township clerk for several terms.
