CHARLES BALDWIN
In October, 1855, Charles K. Baldwin was elected to fill this very responsible and onerous office [Cass County Clerk of the Court], and was re-elected in 1856, and held it until July 5, 1858, when he was summoned to a higher court, a court whose decree there is no appeal from, the court of Death; having been drowned in the Seven Mile creek, in the flood of that year, while attempting to swim it.
