EDWARD A. BAER
Edward A. Baer, the class leader in the Reno Methodist Episcopal church, was born in Davis county, Iowa, on the 25th of January, 1849, and is the son of David and Clarissa (Railsbach) Baer, the former of Ohio and the latter of Indiana. Edward grew to manhood and was educated in the public schools of Davis county, was engaged in teaching and farming there until the winter of 1876, when he came to Cass county, and settled in Edna township. In 1877 he purchased land on the northeast quarter of section 24, of Noble township. He has improved his land, built a nice frame house, and has planted one of the finest groves in the township. Mr. Baer was united in marriage in 1870 to Belle Howard, a native of Virginia. Their union has been blessed with three children -- Ralph B., Ada G. and Clarissa Maude.
