IN MEMORIAM.-Ducius M. Austin, deceased, was born Nov. 20th, 1826, at St. Albans, Vermont, and in childhood moved with his parents to the state of Now York and subsequently to Indiana, where he lived until eighteen years of age-at which time he located in Hancock county, Ills., where a year later he enlisted under command of Ger. Brockman and sorved with him in the expedition against the Mormons, assistingin routing them from Nauvoo and overthrowing their temple at that place, which resulted in their removal to Salt Lake. On arriving maturity he removed to Burlington, this State, in company with a brother, and learned the chair-making business, which pursuit he followed for a number of years. In 1851 he was united in marriage with Miss Eliza Hobart, who survives him. The decoased removed to this county with his family some nine years ago, and by Bis honorable, upright life won the good opinion of all with whom he became acquainted. The deceased was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, living in the faith and dying with the assurance that "all is well." His last words to his wife and children as they stood by his bedside wore: "Be steadfast," and then fell asleep in Josus. To the deceased and his wife were born eleven children, seven of whom are living in this county and are highly respected as citizons. To the aged wife and family in their great bereavement all extend the fullest mensuro of sympathy, with the hope "He who doeth all things well" will comfort them as no human power can.
