OBITUARY OF MRS. SLIPPY Mrs. Evaline Slippy, mention whose death was made last week was born in Hillsboro, Ohio, July 4 1821. Her maiden name was Thomas. She was united in marriage to John II. Slippy at New Hope, Ohio In 1851. After residing in variou States they came to Iowa and located in Old Buckingham, near the town of Traer. In 1882 they moved to Clarion This venerable couple celebrated their golden wedding in 1901 and two years later Mr. Slippy died. After his death his wife took up her residence with her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Rogers, where she had one of the most comfortable of homes and where tloving hands were always ready to assist and care for her every need and comfort. The deceased was eighty- five years of age, but enjoyed, as a rule, very good health. She was a very pleasant. agreeable old lady of the type that it does one good to meet. She was a member of the Congregational church. Mrs. Slippy is the last of her family, and leaves a son, William Slippy, of Waterloo, and Mrs. Rogers, to mourn her death. Mrs. Slippy's death was due to no particular ailment. She sank slowly and quietly away, at peace with all, the world and with her Maker-what a beautiful ending to a well spent life!
The funeral services were held at the home of J A. Rogers Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Olmstead, e-assisted by Rev. Spence, and the re- =mains were interred in Evergreen cemetery beside those of the husband who had gone before.
