Joseph Thorson, 41, died Thursday June 2nd at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Thorson, on North Lincoln Ave.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Wilson's Chapel in charge of Rev. H. C. Bakken and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Joseph Conrad Thorson, son of George and Carrie Thorson, was born August 24, 1907 at Rothsay, Minnesota and passed away June 2, 1949, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of forty-one years, nine months, and eight days. He was baptized by Rev. U. D. Johnson at the Sondre Friborg church. He moved with his family to Volga, South Dakota, and there he was confirmed at the age of fourteen by Rev. A. M. Marines. The family moved to Iowa where he worked with his father on the farm until about ten years ago when his health failed him.

He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Thorson, five brothers, Clarence of Butler, S. Dak., Alvin of Thor, Iowa, Ernest of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Kenneth Milton of Council Bluffs, Iowa and five sisters, Mrs. B. E. Thomson of Nora Springs, Mrs. S. K. Berg and Mrs. C. O. Berg of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Deane Keller of Billings, Mont., and Mrs. H. F. Pontious of Manson, Iowa.

Through the years of suffering, he has been patient and appreciative of the ministry of loving hands. He will be missed by his loved ones and friends. God has given him rest from his labors. We thank God for faith to believe that he is absent from the body and with the Lord.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 5, at the Wilson Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. and at Samuel Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m. Pastor H. C. Bakken officiated. Interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
