Funeral services for Joseph Campbell were held at the home Thursday afternoon with the Rev. T. S. Bassett in charge of the service. Burial was in the Glenwood cemetery.

Joseph Campbell was born in Grundy Center, Iowa, April 12, 1873, son of Charles and Janet Mann Campbell. He was one of nine children, two girls and seven boys, and was the last of the original family to survive.

He grew to manhood in the parental home. After his father’s death in 1899, he and his mother came to Goldfield to make their home. He was a dutiful son and cared for his mother until she, too, passed away.

On May 10, 1911, Joseph Campbell was united in marriage to Martha Gertrude Cameron, here in Goldfield, and the couple have made this their home through the years. To this union one daughter was born, Gertrude Josephine.

For several years they have resided with Mrs. Campbells father, whom they cared for through a long sickness, and whose death occurred about 10 months ago.

Mr. Campbell, besides caring for an acreage, was a mason, carpenter and painter. He was an upright citizen, well respected in the community, and was deeply devoted to his home and family.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Mrs. Ivan Simpson, his little grandson, and by other more distant relatives.
