Page 17, Column 4Dr. Ray H. Barnes, 78, a retired St. Joseph dentist, died Tuesday at the University of Kansas medical center, Kansas City, Kan.
Doctor Barnes was born at Bloomfield, la., and was a graduate of the Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe Business College, Drake University and Kansas City Dental College.
His home was at 1021 Charles street, and he had been a resident of St. Joseph 52 years.
He was a member of the Francis Street Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace E. Barnes of the home; a son, Jack H. Barnes, Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Roper, Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs. Ruth Strait, Canyon City, Colo. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Heaton Bowman chapel in St. Joseph at 10 a. m. Thursday morning, with Dr. Melvin L. Koch officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 Thursday afternoon at Edgewood cemetery.
