The Goldfield Chronicle

Mrs. Jessie Cameron, 74, died Tuesday morning at her home near Goldfield following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church, and burial will be in the Goldfield Cemetery. The remains will be at the Kastler Funeral Home in Eagle Grove until 11 a. m. Friday morning, and after that in the church.

Mrs. Cameron is survived by nine children, Paul and Dorothy at home, Donald of Goldfield, John of Spirit Lake, Allen of Faribault, Minn., Lenard of Osage, Benjimin of Spenard, Alaska, Russell of Renwick, and Robert of Eagle Grove. Also 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Harry Charlesworth of Des Moines, and two brothers, Harvey Campbell of Waterloo and Sam Campbell of California.

Jessie Lonetta Cameron was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Campbell and was born in Butler County, August 8, 1878. She passed away at her home north of Goldfield, Iowa, Tuesday, April 7, 1953, having suffered a heart attack. She moved to Wright County with her parents when a young girl. She was united in marriage to Edwin C. Cameron, December 14, 1899. To this union were born 10 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son (Verne); two brothers (Ralph and Ray); two sisters (Clara), Mrs. Art Ferguson, and (Vera), Mrs. Ben Hiden. Surviving are Paul and Dorothy at home; Donald of Hardy; John of Spirit Lake; Alan of Faribault, Minn.; Lenard of Osage; Benjimin of Spenard, Alaska; Russell of Renwick; and Robert of Eagle Grove. There are 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Sam Campbell of California and Harvey Campbell of Waterloo, one sister, Nellie (Mrs. Harry Charlesworth of Des Moines).

Word has been received by relatives that Ben Cameron has arrived safely at his home in Spenard, Alaska.

He came here by plane to attend the funeral of his mother Mrs. Jesse Cameron in Goldfield, and afterwards spent 10 days with relatives and friends here and in Goldfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Cameron and family moved from Eagle Grove to Alaska last July and since then have purchased a home in Spenard. He has a rural mail route out of that town which is a suburb of Anchorage.
