Alice (Beam) Blevins, 92, of Creston, died on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday March 19, 2021 at the Allerton Cemetery in Allerton, Ia. Pastor Cyndy Ripperger of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Allerton Cemetery in Allerton, Iowa. Open visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday March 18, 2021 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Social distancing and masks will be required. Memorials may be given to Creston Specialty Care or Presbyterian Church if desired.

Alice Louise (Beam) Blevins, daughter of Everett S. Beam and Carrie L. (Putney) was born December 24, 1928 in Allerton, Ia. Alice graduated from Allerton High School in 1947.

Alice was united in marriage to Verlyn Kelley Blevins February 14, 1949 in Promise City, Ia. They were blessed with three children, Kathy, Keith, and Kyle.

Alice assisted in the stores doing window displays, style shows, bookwork and helping on the sales floor as needed, when her husband Verlyn was a Manager at Grahams Department Store, while they lived in Leon, Corydon and Eagle Grove, Ia. They moved to Creston after her husband retired. Alice worked managing Triangle (Doll) Motel, Kmart and drove a rural route for the Creston News Advertiser, and later in the housekeeping department at S.W.C.C. Her last residence was at the Creston Specialty Care. Alice was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Creston, and a former member of the Methodist Church in Corydon, Eagle Grove and Leon.

Alice is survived by a daughter Kathy Buckingham of Leon, Ia.; two sons Keith Blevins of Creston and Kyle (husband Ladislav Pugel) Blevins of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kelly (husband Brett) Konicek of Garwin, Ia., Bryan (wife Katie) Buckingham of Chicago, Ill., Jake (wife Dariel) Blevins of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Joel Buckingham of Kansas City, Mo. and six great-grandchildren, Austin Heltibridle and Dalton Konicek both of Garwin, Ia., Bridget, Rosie and Matthew Buckingham all of Chicago, Ill., and Reed Blevins of Colorado Springs, Colo. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, husband Verlyn Blevins; her daughter-in-law Patti Blevins, son-in-law Fred Buckingham and her brother R. Eugene Beam.
