J. O. E. Johnson, the assistant cashier of the First National Bank of Northwood. was born in this city on the 22nd day of August 1880. In the autumn of l90l he entered the Iowa State University at Iowa City, where he remained two full years in the collegiate department. In 1903 he entered the law department of the State University of Minnesota, remaining two years. Oct. 1st. 1906, he entered the employ of the First National Bank and was later promoted to the position which he now holds.

Johnson, assistant cashier of the First National Bank of Northwood, his native city, was born August 22, 1880, his parents being R. P. and Lena (Hove) Johnson, who are mentioned on another page of this work. Spending his boyhood days in Northwood, J. O. E. Johnson acquired a pulice school education and in the autumn of 1901 entered the Iowa State University at Iowa City, where he devoted two years to study in the collegiate department. In 1903 he entered the law department of the State University of Minnesota and continued his studies there for two years. On the 1st of October, 1906, he entered the employ of the First National Bank and was later promoted to the position of assistant cashier, in which capacity he is now serving. He is likewise a stockholder in this bank and he as made for himself a creditable position in business circles.
On June 26, 1912, Mr. Johnson was united in marriage to Miss Norma Haugen, a daughter of Gilbert N. and Elsie (Evenson) Haugen. The have two children, Mary Elizabeth and Richard Haugen. Both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are widely and favorably known in Northwood, where they have a circle of friends almost coextensive with the circle of their acquaintance. The hospitality of the best homes is freely accorded them and their home is always open for the reception of their many friends, who greatly enjoy its good cheer.
