EARL E. MARINE

Earl E. Marine, 50, 2922 Robertson street, street department employe and a world war 1 veteran, died in a Sioux City hospital Friday morning.

Born in Sioux City October 1, 1894, Mr. Marine lived here all his life. He is a member of Stransberry chapter, Purple Heart.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Hazel Viola and Shirley, Sioux City; one son, Earl jr., Sioux City; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Marine, Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Smith, Sioux City, Mrs. Hazel Gill of Van Port City, Ore., Mrs. Daisy Wickey of Sioux City, and Mrs. Laura Daniels of Sioux City and two brothers, Ralph J., Portland, Ore., and Raymond, Van Port City.

The body is at the Anderson funeral home.

Bit of Joy “From Heaven” Follows Sadness Period.

Joy and sadness commingled within a period of three weeks for Mrs. Leona Marine, 2922 Rustin street, who gave birth to a son Monday in St. Vincent’s hospital.

Absent from hospital corridors at the birth was Earl Marine, husband and father, who died May 25 following a heart attack. Mr. Marine was a veteran of World War I.
