Retired Railroad Man Was Resident Here 50 Years
Death came Friday to a retired railroad employe, Albert M. Reeves, 75, of 412½ 14th street, in a hospital.
For 50 years he lived in Sioux City and spent most of his lifetime in railway employment as telegrapher, station agent and in train service until retirement about five years ago. He worked for the Omaha and Milwaukee railway Albert M. Reeves companies and after 45 years of service he was retired.
Born in Albion, Ill., April 30, 1867, he came when a boy to Iowa with his parents, who settled at Seney. He moved to Sioux City in 1892.
Married at LeMars, Ia., November 21, 1890, he and Mrs. Reeves celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here in 1940.
Surviving are the widow, Margaret, Sioux City; a son, Albert, jr., Rapid City, S. D., and seven daughters, Mrs. H. T. Kapersen, Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. P. J. Boyle, Hutchinson, Kan., and Mrs. P. R. Wigton, Mrs. H. L. Sherrard, Mrs. G. B. Murphy, Mrs. Milton Brainard and Miss Arvilla Reeves, all of Sioux City. Three brothers, Joseph of Alberta, Canada; William of Pipestone, Minn., and Fred of Wichita, Kan., and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
The body is at Larkin's funeral home.

Funeral services for a retired railroad employe, Albert M. Reeves, 75, of 412½ 14th street, who died Friday in a hospital, will be held at 9 a. m. Monday in the Cathedral of the Epiphany.
Rev. T. M. Parle will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body is at Larkin's funeral home and will be taken to the residence this morning.
The Catholic Daughters of America will recite the rosary in the home at 4:30 p. m. today and parishioners will say the rosary there at 8 p.m.
