LuAnn Lundy Goebel, age 68, passed away Saturday, February 24 in Alexandria, MN.

LuAnn was born July 27, 1955 in Sioux City, IA to Louis and Wilma Lundy. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.

After graduating high school she attended Iowa State University and Morningside College. After college she worked for many years at Sioux City Public Libraries while raising her son, Louis.

While working she met her husband, Mark Goebel. They were married in Sioux City in 2000. They moved to Des Moines, IA in 2001 and subsequently to St. Cloud, MN. They moved to Alexandria, MN in 2010 where she lived for the remainder of her life making many dear friends.

She loved her family and her friends. She loved shopping and rides in the country. Fall was her favorite season. She loved animals, especially her cats, Sammy and Midnight.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Wilma, and by her brother, Dan.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mark; her son, Louis (Kimmy); her brother, Jim; and six grandchildren.

A gathering of remembrance will be held at the VFW in Alexandria Thursday, March 14 from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Outreach Food Shelf of Alexandria or to a charity of the giver's choice.
