1 August 2024William H. Kabisch, 75, of Washta, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center of Cherokee.
A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Little Sioux Park Shelter House of Correctionville. Burial was at the Correctionville Cemetery of Correctionville with military rites conducted by the American Legion Mumford-Moon Post #79 and VFW Sioux Valley Post #1750 of Correctionville. A visitation was held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville. The Nicklas D. William Howard Kabisch was born September 19, 1948 in Plymouth County, Iowa to Marvin and Phyllis (Thomson) Kabisch. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1974.
Bill was married to LeAnn (Schliemer) Boecker and they later divorced. He spent his lifetime living in the Washta, Iowa area.
Bill worked at Western Iowa Co-op until retirement and then helped area farmers during their fall harvest. He loved to farm, work on tractors, and watch his cats grow. In his younger years he enjoyed playing Snooker while eating his favorite Rocky Mountain Oysters and enjoying a cold Old Mil. In his free time he enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. He loved spoiling his dog which made him a handful sometimes when Bill wasn’t around.
He is survived by his children, Christina (Waide) Sargent of Quimby, IA, Kim (Nathan) Reusch of Washta, IA, Sarah Kabisch of Quimby, IA and Tiffany (Mitchell) Guinn of Graettinger, IA; grandchildren, Jade, Tayler, Cameron, Jaelyn, Kirsten, Bryce, Jacy, Braxton, Macie and Michael along with extended grandchildren, Nathanael, Carson, Jonathan, Baily, Abbie, Trista and Justin and five great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his beloved dog, Charlie and his siblings, Bev, Mary, Jim and Kenny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Phyllis.
