Carolyn E. Wolpert, 79 of Sioux City passed away peacefully Monday, October 30, 2023 at Bickford Senior Living.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday with the family present. A rosary will be prayed at 6:45 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Carolyn was born February 12, 1944 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Roy and Elizabeth Schweiger. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. She attended the University of Dallas for three years as an art major. She then became a flight attendant for American Airlines while living in New York City.

On June 7, 1969 she married Paul Wolpert at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. They lived briefly in Omaha, Nebraska and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri before making Sioux City, Iowa their home. Together they raised six children: Jenny, Paul, Adam, Mary, Anne and Elizabeth. Carolyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her Catholic Faith, sweet hospitality and heart-warming smile were hallmarks to her personality and to all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Paul; children: Jenny (John) Heithoff of Omaha, Nebraska, Paul (Jennifer) Wolpert of Denver, Colorado, Adam (Shana) Wolpert of Denver, Colorado, Mary (Mark) Orbay of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Anne (John-Paul) Jansen of Front Royal, Virginia, and Elizabeth (Ben) Pratt of Sioux City, Iowa; a sister, Patsy Coughlin of St. Simon Island, Georgia; 20 grandchildren: Andrew, Allison, Anthony, Paul Gabriel, Maxwell, Samuel, Charles, Vivienne, Luke, Alexandra, William, Dominic, Daniel, Jacob, Benedict, Henry, Zoe, Xavier, Emma, and Elisabeth.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
