HENRY S. BOYD
Funeral services will be at 3 p. m. today at the Methodist church at Hornick for Henry S. Boyd, 85, longtime resident of the Hornick vicinity who died Monday afternoon at his farm home.
Rev. F. G. Clark will officiate, and burial will be in the Holly Springs cemetery with the Wood funeral home of Whiting in charge.
Mr. Boyd was born October 8, 1872, at Malvern, la., and moved with his parents to Whiting at the age of 6. They later homesteaded near Hornick and Mr. Boyd had resided on the same farm since 1910.
He was widely-known as a baseball player and trap-shooter in his earlier years. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. John Butler of Sloan, and Mrs. Maurice Visnow of Sioux City; a son, C. R. Boyd of Hornick; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
