OBITUARY.
MRS. ELMER A. SMITH.
Mrs. Elmer A. Smith, of Canoe township, died on Friday last, November 12, at the age of thirty-one years, three months and twenty-five days, after an illness of about four years from tuberculosis. Mrs. Smith’s maiden name was Clara Fischer. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer, of Canoe township, and was born August 17, 1884. She was married to Mr. Smith in 1905, and besides her husband and one daughter, is survived by her parents, four brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Smith joined the German Methodist church in 1900. She was also a member of Oneota Rebekah Lodge, of Decorah and, as along as her health would permit, was a faithful member, both to her church and to her lodge affiliations. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the German M. E. church in Canoe township, Rev. A. F. Damerow officiating. Interment was made in Russell cemetery, where the Rebekahs conducted the services. Mrs. Smith was a loving and devoted wife and mother and in their affliction her family have the sympathy of many friends
