Died at Prairie du Chien.
Word came to Decorah relatives Tuesday morning that Ralph Simmons, who had been living with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary West at Viola, Wis., died Sunday night at Prairie du Chien, where he had been taken for an operation for appendicitis. The remains were brought to Decorah yesterday for burial. The deceased was the only son of she who was known to many here before her marriage as Jennie Kelley, and was about nineteen years of age. His aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelley of Waukon, accompanied the remains to Decorah.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 22, 1895 and is buried in Phelps cemetery.
