Jacob Hanson died at the home of C. O. Hagen on Saturday last. They then moved to Yankton county, S. D., where they continued to farm. During three years of this time Mr. Hanson was engaged in the mercantile business. In 1894 they took up their home at McGregor and in 1902 came to Decorah which has since been their residence. About two weeks ago Mr. and Mrs. Hanson celebrated the fifty-fifth anniversary of their marriage.
The people of Decorah know only of Mr. Hanson’s life since he has resided here, but one and all can testify to the goodness of heart and geniality of disposition that have won him many friends and admirers.
