Susanna Lynn Hope, age 51, passed away on June 14, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Cresco.

A Celebration of Life for Susanna Lynn Hope will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Crossfire Church in West Union, Iowa, with Pastor Carl Tenney officiating. Visitation will take place from 12-2 p.m. prior to the start of the service at the church. A luncheon will be served following the Celebration of Life for Susanna.

Susanna was born on April 20, 1973, in New Jersey, to James and Susanne (Parry) Scullin. On April 26, 2009, Susanna married Chadd Hope in West Union, IA. To make the union more special, it was also Chadd’s mother Lynn’s birthday that day as well. Susanna attended Black Hawk East College, where she obtained degrees in Equine Science and Veterinary Science. She had a passion for horses, especially Tennessee Walking Horses, which her dad raised. Susanna and Chadd owned three of her dad's Tennessee Walking Horses and enjoyed going on trail rides with them. She trained some of the horses and loved meeting up with her friends to go trail riding. Susanna particularly cherished riding with her daughter Makenzy since she was just around 3 years old. In addition to riding with friends and family, Susanna was a member of three different trail riding groups.

Susanna is survived by her husband Chadd Hope, children John Gerdemann and Makenzy Hope, all of Decorah, IA. She is also survived by her mother Susanne Scullin in Calmar, IA, her father's special friend Rachel of Verona, VA, father-in-law Lester Hope of Fayette, IA, brother James (Kristi) Scullin of Castalia, IA, sisters-in-law Lori (Donnie) Funk of Elkader, IA, Martha Hope of West Union, IA, brothers-in-law Marty Hope and his children Breanna and Dillon of West Union, IA, Daniel (Jenna) Hope and their children Charlynn, Faith, and Harmony of West Union, IA, and niece Gail Scullin of Marion, IA.

She was preceded in death by her father James Scullin, mother-in-law Lynn Neuzil and father-in-law Steven "Nitty" Neuzil.

Burial will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, IA.
