Henry Elliott Dies Suddenly.
Henry Elliott, of Bluffton township passed away suddenly in Decorah last Saturday afternoon. He was sitting in a chair in the former Geo. Schamel restaurant on Washington street, and a man sitting next to him was unaware he was dead for a short time. The remains were taken to the undertaking parlors of the Decorah Furniture Co. and later to the home of the deceased’s brother, Wm. Elliott in the south part of Decorah. The deceased was born in Bluffton township about fifty years ago and followed the occupations of farming. For several years past his health had been failing, and his sudden death brings forth the sympathy of many friends. He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, William, Decorah; Richards, Simms, Mont.; Andrew, Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Miles Henry, Cresco; Mrs. McClain, Spokane, Wash. The funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Bluffton. Rev. Father Sampson officiated and burial was in the Catholic cemetery there.—Decorah Public Opinion.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in St. Bridget’s shows he was born in 1858; however, it shows he died in 1915.
