Christy Elvrum came here from Wisconsin Wednesday, called here by the death of her sister, Mrs. Fred Barnes.

Marie Olive Elvrum was born in Lexvicken, Norway, Aug. 19, 1894. She was married to Frederick W. Barnes on the 14th of May, 1912, and since has lived in Kendallville. Two children were born to them, Alene Elvrum and Richard Kendrick. She died on the morning of April 9th, after an illness of 7 days. In her short life she made many friends here and in her own country and endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born Aug 29, 1894 which does not agree with the above. Also that her maiden name was spelled Elverum and her middle name was Oline. She is buried in the Eddy Cemetery.
