Death of A. H. Freer.
[Jackson (Minn.) County Times.]
A telegram was received here Sunday by Newton Freer bearing thes ad{sic} intelligence that his brother A. H. Freer had passed away Sunday morning at his home in Aitkin county. A letter received from Orrie, Friday, informs us that he was buried at Palisade, Minn., in Aitkin county, that so far as he can learn there was no real cause for his death unless it be old age. He leaves to mourn his death a wife, two sons and one daughter. Comrade Abram H. Freer was born at Whitport. N. Y., on May 29, 1840. Moved with his parents to Frankville, Iowa, in 1859. In 1862 he enlisted in the 16th U. S. regulars from which he was discharged with the rank of commissary sergeant in February, 1865. He was married to Miss Julia Hubbell at Frankville, Iowa, December 30, 1869, and moved to Jackson county in 1872 where he resided until 1901 when with his family he moved to Aitkin county, this state, where he lived until the time of his death, Sunday February 2, 1913, aged 72 years and 7 months. Comrade Freer was one of the charter members of B. F. Sweet Post, of which he was an honored and respected member at the time of his death also Mrs. Freer is a member of the B. F. Sweet Post, W. R. C., both of which organizations extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
