Our community was saddened Saturday by the death of Otto Soltow, who died of hemorrhage of the brain. He was taken suddenly ill about two weeks ago and all that medical skill could do for him was done, but it seemed of no avail and he passed away Saturday morning at half-past twelve. Adolph P. Soltow was born at Garnivallo,{sic} Feb. 21, 1877. When about 16 years of age he moved with his parents to the farm in Orleans, where he resided until March 7th, 1900, when he was united in marriage to Cora Nelson and moved to the farm west of town where he has since lived. To this union three children were born, one daughter, Lois, and two sons, Paul and Oliver, who with the bereaved wife are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. He also leaves his aged father, six brothers and two sisters and many other relatives who keenly feel the loss. His many friends will sadly miss him, and {?} deeply sympathize with all of the family. The funeral was held at the M. E. church here on Monday at 12 o’clock, the Modern Woodmen, of which he was a member, taking charge. Rev. Meyers officiated. Interment was made in the Kendallville cemetery. Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Charles and Julius Soltow of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Putnam of Watertown, S. D., Mrs. Wm. Soltow and son Harold of Clear Lake, and Mrs. and Mrs. Eldo Werkley of Monona.
