Vine, Lyle Curtis 1929 - 1974

Lyle Curtis Vine of 705 West Main, Decorah, died Sunday, March 3 at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was 44. Mr. Vine had lived most of his life in Decorah and had been employed as a brick layer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5 at Decorah Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman Moen Jr., Roger Vine, Kenneth Bolson Jr., Dennis Christopherson, Duane Vine and Alan Severson. Pastor Alden H. Hovda conducted final rites, and funeral arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home, Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist and accompanied the soloist Austin Moen.
Mr. Vine is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alert Vine of Decorah, a son Larry and a daughter Susan of Decorah and four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Bolson and Mrs. Betty Christopherson of Decorah, Mrs. Leonard Severson of Calmar and Mrs. Gary Olson of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ardell, who died a year ago.
Lyle Vine was born September 12, 1929. He attended Decorah Public Schools and was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church. An overseas veteran, he had served in Korea and Germany with the U.S. Army.
