Herman (Hermie) Zweibahmer of Jackson, Mich., a former resident of the Ossian vicinity, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the University of Michigan hospital at Ann Arbor, Mich., following a lingering illness. He was 52 years old.
Funeral services were conducted December 14 in St. Francis de Sales Catholic church at Ossian by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. V.J. Peters, assisted by the Rev. James Secora. Organist was Sister Doris.
Burial was in St. Francis cemetery with the following men serving as pallbearers: Richard Kuhn, Richard Kapler, Eddie Zweibahmer, David Zweibahmer, John Secora and Kenny Zweibahmer.
Mr. Zweibahmer was born Feb. 5, 1922 at Ossian, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zweibahmer. He spent the early years of his life in the Ossican vicinity, where he obtained an education by attending the DeSales school. Durng World War II he served in the Army.
He married Janet Whitlock, who survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter, Sophia Anne Zweibahmer of Jackson, Mich., and Robert Zweibahmer of Savanna, Ill.; his father, Louie Zweibahmer of Minneapolis. Minn., and six brothers and sisters: Mrs. Luella Cooper of Minneapolis, Minn., Ted Zweibahmer of Ossian, Elenora (Mrs. Clarence Kapler) and Evelyn (Mrs. Bernell Secora), both of Fort Atkinson, Albert Zweibahmer of Calmar and Roselyn (Mrs. Norman Poshusta) of Spillville.
Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were from Minneapolis, Minn., Wells, Minn., Sioux Falls, So. Dak., Jesup, Waterloo, Decorah, Spillville, Waucoma, New Hampton, Waverly, Protivin, St. Lucas and Fort Atkinson.
