Descendants of Decorah.
J. W. Holm, formerly of Canoe township, writes the REPUBLICAN that a number of descendants of old Decorah, the Indian, live near his home at Spring Bluff, Wis., and sends us a paper noting the death of the wife and child of Foster Decorah. He also says that Doc. and Sam Decorah were cousins, one of whom captured Black Hawk near Kilbourn City, Wis. One of those cousins died in the vicinity of Big Spring, Adams Co., at the age of 108 years. The other is also dead. The younger Decorahs have homesteads in Adams County, on Roche-a-Cri creek. Their names are James, Sam, Will and Foster. Their sister Mary died only a few weeks ago. Mr. Holm says he gets his information from S. W. Pierce, editor of the Adams Co. Press, and Robt. Horison, county clerk.
