Another Pioneer Gone.
Information came to us only last Saturday of the death of Ezekiel Webb, a well known pioneer in Canoe and Hesper townships. The event occurred at the home of his son Nathan, in Montague, Mich., on the 15th of July. The result came in the form of paralysis, after an illness of only about three weeks' duration.
Mr. Webb was born Feb, 5th, 1821, in New Jersey, but moved with his parents when a lad over into Now York, and remained a few years. Later the family went west and located at Adrian, Michigan, where, in 1842, he married Sarah B. Bassett, who bore to him three children. Two of these—Nathan N. and Mrs. Susan A. Perry, of Hesper township,—survive him. In 1854 Mr. Webb came to Iowa, and, finding land in Canoe township that suited him, located there, and prospered, until 1875 when he sold out, built a home in Hesper in which he resided until 1892, when his wife departed this life. Since then he has made his home with his children.
Mr. Webb was a member of the Friends' church, and lived up to the doctrines of his faith. As a farmer and business man he was more than usually shrewd and successful, and easily acquired a competence sufficient for his needs in his old age.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Montague, Michigan.
