Mrs. M. Floody died at her home in this place last Sunday at 12:30 o’clock. Mrs. Floody had a paralytic stroke some years ago, and few weeks since another from which she failed rapidly. Miss Honora Kearn was born in Ireland and came to America early in her life. She married M. Floody in Pennsylvania. Forty-one years ago they moved to Iowa and since that time have resided here, so they may be numbered among the pioneer settlers. At the time of her death Mrs. Floody was past seventy years of age. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Floody, eight of whom and the husband survive to mourn her death. The funeral occurred at Ossian yesterday at ten o'clock. The friends of the deceased have the heartfelt sympathies of their large circle of friends here.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery shows her name spelled Hanora and that she was born in 1829.
