Lillie, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Miles, died on the morning of the 8th, and the funeral services were held at the Friends’ church on the 10th, conducted by Rev. J. Hilburn and Dr. Philip Slack. Lillie was a general favorite among her mates, and the village school was dismissed. All the scholars attended the funeral and followed the remains to their last resting place.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Hesper Public Cemetery shows her name as Mary Lillie and that she was born in 1884.
