Decorah- Theodore Arneson, 64, superintendent of the Winneshiek county home and farm at Freeport, died early Friday in a Decorah hospital.

The body is at Steine Funeral home, where a service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, to be followed at 2 p.m. by rites at the Big Canoe Lutheran church at Highlandville, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. William T. Hexom will officiate.

Arneson was born Aug. 21, in Highland township, son of Mr. and Mrs. Erick T. Arneson. He engaged in farming until three years ago, when he returned and moved to Decorah. In June, 1949, he was appointed to the position at Freeport which he held at the time of his death.

On March 12, 1913, he married Ella Forde, who survives.

His surviving children are Mrs. Harold Rupe, Chicago, Mrs. Leonard Blegen, Spring Grove, Minn., Robert, on the home farm, and Emmet in Decorah. His brother, Martin, of Decorah and his sister, Mrs. Sever Shervheim, Minot, N. D., also survive.
