Lars Anderson Was Buried June 14 in Big Canoe Cemetery

Funeral services for Lars Anderson, 94, were held Monday, June 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the Steine Funeral home. Burial was in the Big Canoe Lutheran cemetery with Rev. B.A. Johnson in charge.

Pallbearers were Julius Anderson, Art Anderson, Clarence Stoskopf, Morris Sampson, Cleve Ames and Vernon Stoskopf.

Mr. Anderson died Friday evening, June 11, at the home of his niece Mrs. Edward Puffer, 817 River street in Decorah. He had been ill for about two years.

The deceased was born January 14, 1860, in Norway, the son of Andrew and Anna Anderson. He came to this country in 1879 and settled in Winneshiek County. He never married.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the Big Canoe Lutheran church. He was well known in this county as a carpenter.

Survivors include a brother and sister; Sam Anderson of La Crosse, and Mrs. Bertha Stoskopf of Decorah. There are also a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
