Last rites for Barbara Iverson held June 23

Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Iverson, a life-long resident of the Decorah area, died June 19 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 23 at 1:30 p.m. by Pastors Paul H. Christenson and Glenn Borreson at First Lutheran Church where she was a member. Burial was in the Big Canoe Lutheran Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Gerald Borsheim, Ronald Borsheim, Verle Borsheim, Leonard Iverson, Stanley Iverson and Virgil Iverson. William Kuhlman was organist and accompanied the congregation as they sang hymns. Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Mrs. Iverson (the former Barbara Borsheim) was born Feb. 19, 1901 in Pleasant Township where she attended rural school. She was the daughter of Peter M. and Julia (Bagny) Borsheim. She was married to Fred Iverson Nov. 2, 1946 in Mason City, Ia.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Carola Bordeleau, Riverside, Calif., and Violet (Mrs. Herbert Vick), Mason City, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
