Lillie Foltz, age 87, of Decorah, Iowa died on Wednesday. August 15. 2001 at the West Village Care Center, Independence, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

Lillie Luella (Quandahl) Foltz was born on June 11, 1914 in Winneshiek County, Iowa the daughter of Ludvig and Addie (Brandt) Quandahl. Lillie attended country school north of Decorah. She married Earl Foltz in January 1936 near Decorah and they farmed in Hesper Township for many years. Lillie enjoyed being with her grandchildren, playing cards, making ceramics and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Lillie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Locust and church circle.

Lillie's survivors: Three daughters: Shirley Tekippe & husband Robert, Independence, IA; Lois Drew, Hampton, Iowa and Thelma Adomatis, Fort Myers, Florida. Twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren. One sister: Ida Noecker, Decorah, Iowa. Two brothers: Clyde Quandahl & wife Bootie, Decorah, Iowa and Howard Quandahl & wife Arlene, Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Earl; son: Leo; grandson: Earl John; brother: Allen Quandahl and sister: Lena Davis.

Services held for, Lillie Foltz, 87
Funeral services for Lillie Foltz of Independence, formerly of Decorah, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Locust with Rev. John Mayer officiating. Interment was in the Locust Cemetery, rural Decorah. French and Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

She is survived by three daughters: Shirley Tekippe of Independence, Lois Drew of Hampton, and Thelma Adomatis of Fort Myers, FL; one sister: Ida Noecker of Decorah; and two brothers: Clyde Quandahl of Decorah and Howard Quandahl of Stoughton, WI.
