Wilma A. Barth, 82, of 191 Carter Street N.W., Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a massive stroke. Services are at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Kasch. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Thursday, March 27) at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside committal service is at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Locust Cemetery, rural Decorah, Iowa.

Wilma was born Oct.18, 1925, in Winneshiek County, to Philip and Hannah (Hanson) Hovey. She attended rural schools and graduated from Cresco High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Orleans Lutheran Church, Ridgeway. On June 10, 1945, at Orleans Lutheran Church she married Galin Barth.

She enjoyed the coffee parties with the ladies, reading and her church. Her cookies and jam will be missed.

Wilma's family wishes to thank the caring doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy ER and the 8th floor in our time of need and a special thanks to Karen Finn and the manager at Fareway for the help you gave us.

Survivors include a son, Gary (Chris) Barth of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Bette (Ken) Jurjevich of Albuquerque, N.M., Phyllis (Stan) Hack of West Branch and Marlys (Harold) Rosendahl of Cresco; one sister, Kathryn (Vernon) Spilde; and three brothers, Harlan Hovey of Decorah, Maynard (Colleen) Hovey of Cresco and Ken (Roseann) Hovey of Atkins.

Also surviving are her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Leann (John) Eaton, Kristy Sauerbry and Joshua Wagner, Glenn (Nicole) Barth, Griffin and Marigrace, Brian (Nicole) Barth, Cailey, Kendall and Ava, Danielle (Aaron) Friedlein and baby, David Jurjevich, Kari (Roger) Ferrie, Austin, Megan, and Peyton, Jodi Rosendahl, Derek (Becca) Rosendahl and Todd Rosendahl; step-great grandchildren, Margaret and Loretta Eaton; step-great great grandchild, Paige; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Galin in 1998; one brother; two sisters; and a great grandson, Kyle.
