Last Saturday evening at the home of the groom’s sister in the fifth ward, Chris E. Knoke and Gertrude K. McConnell, both of Charles City, were united in marriage, Rev. M. Willett officiating. The groom is well known to a large number of friends in Decorah and the northern part of the county where his boyhood was spent. The bride has been a nurse at Charles City and cared for Mr. Knoke during his illness of some months ago, and this fact suggests a tinge of romance in their wedding. They will continue to make their home at Charles City where Mr. Knoke is engaged as a carpenter. The best wishes of his friends are extended.
