Wedding Anniversary.
On the evening of Friday, Sept. 9th, a very pleasant and well planned surprise was completed when a host of their friends and relatives to the number of about 160 met at the very pleasant farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown in Orleans township, to assist them in commemorating the event of their 25th wedding anniversary, which occurred on the following day, September the 10th.
During the evening, in a few well chosen words in behalf of the company, Hon. D. A. Lyons presented this estimable couple with a very nice writing desk and chair, a large arm chair and a set of solid silver spoons.
At midnight an elegant supper was furnished to which all did ample justice, after which most of the company amused themselves in dancing till the wee hours of the morning.

Those from a distance who were present to participate in the surprise were Chas. Pooler, wife and daughter, and Ray Pooler and wife, all of Austin, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Stockman, of Decorah, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown wish to thank their many friends for the kindly remembrance of their wedding anniversary and for the fine presents, and they also wish to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of the silver spoons and a sum of money sent by Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Chamberlain, of Marshalltown, Iowa, who could not be in attendance at the anniversary.
