BUFFALO CENTER, IA.— Among the newly organized telephone companies is the Buffalo Center Telephone & Exchange Company, of this city, which has elected the following officers: President, J. G. Daum; vice-president, F. T. Sparks; secretary, J. J. Guyer; treasurer, T. E, Isaacson. These gentlemen, with E. E. Secor, form the board of directors of the company. The exchange at Buffalo Center has been purchased by the promoters of this enterprise, and the new concern is to be operated in connection with the Western Electric Telephone Company.

MASON CITY, IA.— The property of the Northern Telephone Company, which represents some 50 miles of toll line in Winnebago County, including exchanges at Lake Mills, Forest City, Buffalo Center and Thompson, has passed into the hands of the Western Electric Telephone Company, of Mason City, the consideration being $15,000. This new acquisition adds over 1,200 individual lines to the latter company's plant, and the purchase price, together with the money that it is planning to spend for new lines, will represent an outlay of close to $230,000.
