Horse Thieves at Work
~
Fort Dodge, Aug. 3 – This morning Sheriff Dowd was notified by Sam Stoebe, a farmer living four miles southwest of Humboldt, that he had a team stolen last night. Later Stoebe telephoned again and said he had lost a buggy, harness and leather fly net in addition. The last loss had not been discovered when Stoebe telephoned at first. One horse was a bay mare with a white star in forehead and white hind foot, 5 years old. The other was a brown horse eleven years old, weighing 1,500 pounds. The thieves are probably riding one and leading the other horse.
