Courtney A. Seymour, 17, of Martensdale, died Aug. 26, 1995 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near St. Patrick’s Church in Madison County. Wake services were held Aug. 28 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Catholic services were Aug. 29 at the Martensdale-St. Mary’s High School Gym. Burial was at the Calvary Cemetery in Churchville.

He was born in Des Moines to Robert Seymour and Cindy Mayer. He was a lifetime resident of Martensdale. He had completed his junior year at Martensdale-St. Mary’s High School. He was active in football, this fall’s co-captain, basketball and baseball. He was an explorer Boy Scout and had participated in fire department water fight competition.

Surviving relatives include his father, Robert Seymour of Martensdale; his mother, Cindy Mayer of Norwalk; one brother, John Seymour of Norwalk; one stepbrother, John Mayer of Des Moines; and his grandmother, Ethel Seymour of Prole.
