(May 31, 1857 - June 4, 1940)Isaac Surber, A Pioneer, Is Dead
One of Warren County’s pioneers, Isaac Surber, who celebrated his 83rd birthday last Friday, May 31, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Bellman, about noon Tuesday, and services will be held Thursday, June 6, at 2:30 at the Orr Funeral Home. Mr. Surber was born near Summerset and lived all of his life in Warren County where he farmed until four years ago. Since that time he had made his home with his children. He is survived by four daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Charles Bartle of Mineral Point, Wis., Mrs. T. R. Perkins of Armstrong, Mrs. Beulah Gammelgaard of Emmetsburg and Mrs. Bellman, and two sons, Harry Surber of Independence, Kansa., and Virgil of Des Moines.
